      Alvin Rajkomar, MD is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of California, at San Francisco (UCSF). He is also the Director of Clinical Data Science at UCSF's Center for Digital Health Innovation. After graduating with a degree in Chemistry and Physics at Harvard, he completed medical school at Columbia University, his residency in internal medicine at UCSF, and fellowship in Hospital Medicine at UCSF.

      His research centers around applying deep learning, a type of machine learning technique, to structured and unstructured data from the electronic health record and to images from radiology archives. His focus is creating and deploying algorithms that will directly improve clinical care; one of his algorithms has already been deployed and is in use by the health system for dynamic risk adjustment of primary care patients.
