Dr. Seritan is a geriatric psychiatrist and a psychodynamic therapist. In her clinical practice, she combines psychopharmacological management with psychotherapy for each patient.
Dr. Seritan’s research focuses on understanding the psychiatric and cognitive aspects of the neurodegenerative disease, fragile X-associated tremor/ataxia syndrome (FXTAS). Additional scholarly interests include: student and physician wellness, faculty development, and women's mental health. Dr. Seritan is an active, enthusiastic mentor.
Prior to joining UCSF, Dr. Seritan was with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of California, Davis (2004-2015), where she also served as Associate Dean for Student Wellness (2013-2015). Dr. Seritan developed the student wellness program at UC Davis School of Medicine, which she led from 2009 to 2015.
