Dr. Simon Little is a neurologist who specializes in caring for patients with movement disorders, including Parkinson's disease, tremor and dystonia (involuntary muscle contractions that can cause repetitive movements and abnormal posture). He has a particular interest in using deep brain stimulation (surgically implanted electrodes to regulate areas of the brain that trigger abnormal activity) to treat symptoms such as muscle stiffness, slowness and tremors when they haven't responded to other therapies. Similarly, his research focuses on further developing deep brain stimulation therapies to diagnose and treat neurological conditions, including Parkinson's disease.

Dr Little earned his medical degree at Cambridge University and University College London. Remaining in London, he completed a residency in neurology at St. George's Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, then returned to University College London as a clinical lecturer in movement disorders and neuroscience. He earned an MRCP(UK) – Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom for general medicine and also a specialty certificate in neurology. He also a doctorate in experimental neurology from the University of Oxford.

Altmetrics Details PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
