       Overview
       Overview
My research is focused on abused women and their children as well as on their human responses and strengths. This program of research is an outgrowth of years of clinical experience with battered women and their children and attempts to answer questions of clinical significance and relevance. Initially my research described the breadth and depth of battered women’s and their children’s multidimensional responses to violence. However, more recently my research has focused on the impact of diverse types of traumatic exposures including intimate partner violence on women’s health including exploration into mechanisms of action that underlie women’s symptoms.
