    Dr. Patricia Robertson is a perinatologist, an obstetrician who specializes in high-risk pregnancy. Robertson also is a member of the UCSF Fetal Treatment Center. Robertson's special interests include preventing preterm birth and lesbian health issues.

    Robertson earned an undergraduate degree in biological sciences at Mount Holyoke College. Robertson then completed a medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, followed by a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at UCSF. After five years in private practice in Southern California, Robertson returned to UCSF as a member of the faculty and completed a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine.

    Robertson wrote The Premature Labor Handbook: Successfully Sustaining Your High-Risk Pregnancy, the first book to specifically and comprehensively address preterm labor and the related issues confronting women, their partners and their families.
