    Collapse overview
My current research at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) focuses on radiochemistry and molecular imaging, with an emphasis on developing PET radiotracers for the selective detection and characterization of bacterial infections. This work integrates synthetic chemistry, radiochemistry, and chemical biology to develop molecular probes capable of interrogating disease-associated biological processes in vivo. My broader research experience spans medicinal chemistry, peptide and peptidomimetic design, non-natural amino acids, self-assembling systems, and nanomedicine, with applications in antimicrobial and antibiofilm research, cancer, wound healing, and targeted therapeutics. My earlier work focused particularly on understanding how molecular structure, conformation, chirality, and self-assembly influence biological activity. Together, these experiences have shaped my research interests at the interface of molecular design, chemical biology, and molecular imaging, with the goal of developing new tools for understanding, detecting, and ultimately improving the management of disease.

Altmetrics Details PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
