Overview
Pedro Pinheiro-Chagas is a Neuroscience Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco - UCSF, in the Department of Neurology and in the UCSF Dyslexia Center. He studies the neural architecture and dynamics of human intelligence, with a focus on cognitive symbolic systems, such as mathematics and language. His research program aims at understanding how these systems develop and decline and how we can help.
He combine machine learning, computational modelling, electrophysiological recordings (intracranial EEG, MEG), neuroimaging (fMRI), continuous behavioral measures (trajectory-tracking) and neuropsychology to study the processing stages and representational codes underlying cognitive operations. Complementarily, he use intracranial electrical stimulation to modulate brain activity and behavior.
Recently, his team has been advancing the development of sophisticated artificial intelligence (AI)-driven models designed to predict and characterize neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative conditions, ultimately aiding in their diagnosis.

Altmetrics Details
PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media.
(Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.)
Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication.
Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication.
Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.)
