Dr. Pekka Talke is an anesthesiologist with more than 30 years of experience. He cares for patients in the operating rooms with a particular focus on neuroanesthesia (optimizing anesthesia during neurological surgeries). He served as chief of neuroanesthesia for 15 years.

For more than three decades, Talke has conducted research that focuses on noninvasive physiological monitoring (using devices outside the body to continuously assess a patient's status) and blood vessel function.

Talke earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, where he also completed a residency in anesthesiology. He is a member of the Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care, and has served on its board of directors.

Talke is a native of Finland.

Altmetrics Details PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
