Dr. Marie Cornet is a Neonatologist at Benioff Children Hospital, University of California, San Francisco. She cares for premature babies and term neonates who require intensive care at birth. She is part of the Neuro-intensive Care Nursery (NICN) leadership team. Her research focuses on neonatal neurology, term encephalopathy, and neonatal seizures.

Dr. Cornet joined the Division of Neonatology at UCSF in 2018. She completed her pediatric residency and obtained a PhD in medical science at the University of Louvain. She did a year of Neonatology in London before moving to UCSF to pursue research in neonatal seizures supported by a Belgian American Educational Grant. She completed her neonatology Fellowship and advanced training in clinical research at UCSF.

Dr. Cornet has published several studies of early predictors and signs of seizures and hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. She also studied how maternal treatment may influence neonatal adaptation at birth and the risk of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. Her current work focuses on the role of maternal infection and inflammation on neonatal and neurodevelopmental outcomes. Dr. Cornet has received funding from the UCSF Newborn Brain Research Institute, the Thrasher Foundation, and the NIH.

Altmetrics Details PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
