As a DEIA Program Manager at the University of California San Francisco Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, I leverage my PhD training in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and my passion for equity and inclusion to drive positive change within the scientific community. With over one year of experience in this role, I examine institutional policies and culture, and develop strategies to improve diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice within the Cancer Center.

My interest in DEIA stems from my own experiences as a graduate student researcher and a leader of various initiatives for marginalized learners at UCSF. I have successfully established and coordinated community building, mentorship, and professional development programs for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows from underrepresented backgrounds, such as the Native and Indigenous Scientists in Quantitative Biology Symposium, which reached over 200 scientists and secured over $45,000 in funding. I have also contributed to improving equity in graduate admissions, building LGBTQIA+ community, and creating peer mentorship networks. Through these experiences, I have gained valuable skills in event planning, content development, fundraising, communication, and collaboration. My mission is to empower marginalized learners and transform learning environments through creative and collaborative solutions.

Altmetrics Details PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
