Dr. Yazdany received her undergraduate degree from Stanford (1995), her Masters of Public Health from Harvard (2000), and her MD from the University of California, Los Angeles (2000). She completed medical residency and a rheumatology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. She joined the faculty in the Division of Rheumatology in 2006. Her clinical activities include seeing patients in the UCSF Lupus Clinic, where she serves as Associate Director, as well as patients attending both the Lupus Clinic and General Rheumatology Clinic at San Francisco General Hospital. In 2004, she was awarded the American College of Rheumatology/Research and Education Foundation's Physician Scientist Development Award, and in 2007, the Arthritis Foundation's Arthritis Investigator Award. Her primary research focus has been examining the provision of health services to patients with rheumatic diseases, particularly evaluating disparities and the quality of care delivered to these populations. Currently, she is leading national efforts to develop and test quality measures in rheumatology. Dr. Yazdany is Co-chair of the American College of Rheumatology's (ACR) Quality Measures Subcommittee and a member of the ACR's Quality of Care Committee. She also serves on the National Quality Forum's Health Professionals Council.
