    Dr. Poonam Vohra is a pathologist specializing in cytopathology and breast pathology, examining cells and other samples for signs of disease. She provides both general surgical pathology and cytology services, including performing fine needle aspiration (passing a needle into a lump or other suspicious body tissue to draw a sample of cells for biopsy).

    Vohra completed her medical degree as well as residences in pathology and transfusion medicine at the Government Medical College in Patiala, India. She completed postdoctoral research in cytopathology at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, India.

    Vohra served as a neuropathology research assistant at UCSF before attending the University of Massachusetts Medical School to complete a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology. She returned to UCSF to complete a fellowship in cytopathology.
