Dr. Sara C. LaHue is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at UCSF, and holds a Visiting Scientist appointment at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging. She is a neurohospitalist (neurologist focused on the care of hospitalized adults), researcher and educator. As a neurohospitalist, she serves on the Neurohospitalist Society Executive Board, the Neurohospitalist Editorial Board, and is an active member of several American Delirium Society committees. She is coauthor of the textbook "Emergency Neurology" (Oxford University Press 2021).

Dr. LaHue's research interests span several areas within neurology, though the majority of her grant-funded work centers on translational investigations of delirium, sleep, and cognitive impairment in hospitalized older adults. She is also passionate about improving the care of women with neurological disorders through educational initiatives and research. Dr. LaHue is both Co-I and Director of Education for Sex and Gender Enriched (SAGE) Neurology R25, as well as an affiliate member of the UCSF Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health, Women’s Health Clinical Research Center, and UCSF BALANCE. Dr. LaHue also directs the emergency neurology simulation curriculum for residents.

Dr. LaHue obtained her medical degree and completed residency in Neurology at UCSF, where she served as chief resident. She also completed her Neurohospitalist Fellowship at UCSF. Dr. LaHue is board certified in Neurology.
