    Dr. Christenson is an Associate Professor at the University of California, San Francisco in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy, and Sleep Medicine. She serves as an attending physician in the Critical Care Unit and Adult Pulmonary Clinic. Dr. Christenson obtained her undergraduate degree at University of Wisconsin, Madison and her medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She completed her residency training as well as a year of research training in computational biology at Boston Medical Center. She then came to UCSF for fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine where she also obtained a Master’s in Clinical Research and has since joined faculty.

    Dr. Christenson’s research program focuses on airway genomics with an emphasis on using innovative computational tools and systems biology to study complex airway disease. She has primarily focused on dissecting the heterogeneity of airway disease by identifying biologically distinct subgroups (molecular phenotypes) that may respond better to targeted therapeutics using genomic signatures.
